Walking for a cure — Epilogue

Full Life team exceeds fundraising goal!

The Full Life Care 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s team did themselves proud again this year, exceeding its fundraising goal despite challenges of organizing under pandemic health and safety protocols.

The team was shooting for $2,500; it raised $2,715!

“That makes me happy!” exclaimed team captain Kelly Nissell, Full Life’s Adult Day health Nursing Manager.

Full Life’s contribution to the Alzheimer Association’s annual fundraising event finally took place Saturday, Oct. 3. The walk had been postponed for a week due to dangerously smoky skies sent by wildfires in Eastern Washington.

While observing COVID-19 pandemic safety protocols of social distancing and mask wearing, the group started its walk at Grand Avenue Park, trekked across the new Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and down to the Everett Marina and back.

This was the 10th year that Full Life’s Everett Adult Day Health Center staff has participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Teams across the country have been participating under similar safety conditions this year, but the festive atmosphere hasn’t been dampened.

“A fun time was had by all!” Kelly said. “This is a great group of people to work with and to walk with.”
